Thing 7 - Web 2.0 Communication Tools
Email is such a part of everyday life, it's hard to imagine life without it. But, sorting through emails does waste time. I'm going to start following the tip to immediately deal with incoming email. I'll just need to remember to check the "to do" file regularly.
I've used the other tools (instant messaging and text messaging) a couple of times each. I don't use either at work. I think these would be great tools for online reference in large libraries, especially when dealing with people who use these on a regular basis. Instant messaging and text messaging has become a standard way of communication. One teen told me that she never used email anymore because it's too slow.
I'm scheduled for a MINITEX webinar on Wednesday that I had signed up for it before reading this thing. I've taken them in the past and like the convenience.
